Our AI Policy
The Bengal Journal of Social Science and Development permits the limited and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) tools only for supportive purposes such as language improvement, formatting, or preliminary assistance. The core intellectual work, including ideas, analysis, interpretation, and conclusions, must be entirely the original contribution of the author(s). Fully AI-generated manuscripts are strictly prohibited and will be rejected.
The journal may use AI-detection tools during the review process. Manuscripts showing a high likelihood of AI-generated content (generally above 20–30%, subject to editorial judgment) may face revision or rejection. AI tools cannot be listed as authors, as they cannot take responsibility for the work.
Authors must clearly disclose any use of AI tools in the Research Methodology section or in a separate statement, mentioning the tool used and its purpose. A formal author declaration is required confirming originality, proper citation, and transparent AI usage.
The responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and ethical compliance of the manuscript lies solely with the author(s). The journal, its editors, and reviewers are not responsible for any misuse of AI or undisclosed AI-generated content.
